State-wide Law Practice

W. Scott Palmer, Attorney At Law, has been practicing law in Santee, South Carolina since 1988, the year he graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Starting out in a single-room office with one legal assistant, Palmer’s practice initially comprised a great amount of real estate legal work. Over the years the firm has expanded its practice to meet the needs and demands of all of the residents of Santee, and surrounding communities. From the firm’s office located at 8818 Old #6 Highway, Palmer and a staff of five paralegals and legal assistants provide a wide array of legal services, with emphasis on civil litigation, family court practice, criminal defense, personal injury, Social Security disability, probate law, and of course, residential and commercial real estate closings.

Military Family History

Mr. Palmer, a native of the Washington, D.C. area, moved to South Carolina as a young child when his father, a career Marine officer, received a battalion command at Parris Island, S.C. After retiring from the Marine Corps, the elder Palmer moved his family to the historic city of Charleston, where he enjoyed a second career as a professor at the College of Charleston.

Education and Military Service

Upon graduation from Charleston High School, W. Scott Palmer attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. While in his senior year, he became interested in military service, and, following graduation, enrolled in the Naval Aviation Officers Candidate School and Pensacola, Florida. On January 16, 1981, Palmer received his commission as an ensign in the United States Navy. He was subsequently assigned as a Communications Division Officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CV-43), which was stationed in the San Francisco Bay area. Following two extended deployments aboard the Coral Sea, the second of which was an around-the-world transit, Palmer left active duty to pursue his legal education.
